I'll be replacing the brake lines and hoses. I have never done this before, so was wondering if there is anything I should know or any tips to make the job easier. Thanks as always!
Are you replacing all of them? some are near impossible without lifting the body. Use really nice flare nut wrenches. I ended up using vise grips on a couple they were so tight. maybe soak them with penetrating oil.
make all the conncetions before installing the mounting tabs. youll need to finnese the tubes into place a little bit.
Well, I was replacing the brake proportioning valve on the 74, but couldn't get the fitting off of the line that heads to the rear brakes. Figured it wasn't a bad time to replace the lines. You've got me worried about lifting the body though. Because that won't really be an option at this point.
actaully on second thought just saw a diagram. I think its the gas lines that are mounted above the frame.
the brake ones are tight to the floorpans. I think theyre easeir to get to. theres a few tight spots on the exhaust reinforcement and at the rear block.
If they are original while fitting wrenches are wonderful pretty much plan to go right to vice grips
Good to know, thank you!

the fitting on the line to the rear brakes wouldn't come off the proportioning valve, so instead of just doing one line, figured I might as well get them all done for piece of mind. Plus I had a really soft brake pedal. Air is getting introduced somewhere.
