Default Installing Console Panels

My 81 came with new console panels but they are just stuck up there, not tucked in like they should be, nor do they have all the screws in them. I assume the edge of the console panel is supposed to tuck under the lip of the console. But how does it tuck under the hand brake pad? My pad is loose and I'm not sure how to get it back correct.

Can you provide pictures of the handbrake area in question?

The edge is supposed to be tucked into the edge of the console top and emergency brake top/arm rest. Screws hold it into place. You will have to remove the seats to properly install them.

Sometimes the screw holes are hard to find. I used an ice pick to help find the mounting tabs on the console sides.

Tabs along the underside of the pad. Take a look and you'll see them. Work slowly and you can remove it.

There's also 2 screws on the front that fasten it to the shifter console. Depending on the year, there may be one in the back that you get to from the center storage area.
