These do seem like standard rivets. What can we conclude from this?
The right side rivet is not seated all the way down. I've never seen a factory installed trim tag with the rivets not seated down. I would be willing to bet the VIN and trim tags were not the ones this car was born with.

I am not a expert but that engine pad looks like a restamp to me. Looks too deep and clear.

I'm not an expert either, but upon further inspection, I think you're right.
Anyway, the seller emailed me this morning asking if I was still interested because he got an offer below his asking price and he thinks he'll accept it. I'll let someone else inherit a problem car! Lol!

Although not an expert. There should be a partial vin stamped in the frame and body. They are/were used by LEOs to help ID stolen car and parts.
