Took this photo of my Vette outside a mates house with my phone, it's just a quick phone snap but for some reason I think it turned out great.
I really like the shot so I thought I'd share it with you guys.
Really good shot of the car, as it is. If you could have someone photoshop it and put a different background on that shot, it might be spectacular. No offense to your bud; he has a nice place. But, the photo of that car needs a better backdrop to jazz it up. (I like the driveway, though!)
The car used on the original GM brochure has nothin' on yours!!!
IMO - I disagree with the comment about needing a better backdrop. To me, the photo shows spontaneity and a "slice-of-life" quality, which agrees with your "quick phone snap' description. Nice looking car, also. Thanks for sharing.
Nicky,
what is it like owning a C3 like your beautiful machine in your corner of the UK? What is the perception of the car?
In the US, the car is considered iconic and a part of our America's heritage. There were 500,000 produced and most of them are still in circulation, so they are not a supply & demand oddity that are exotically priced. The E-Type (and, other beautiful vehicles made in Europe and Japan) are VERY fine and beloved collector cars by their owners and have many admirers, but a C3 stands out because of its deep, unapologetic connection to our American roots. There haven't been any top songs written about import classics to my knowledge (https://uploadstars.com/video/Y2GGX11BM24D). So, I often wonder how much, if any of that American cultural connection has made it to foreign shores?
**Any other overseas C3 hobbyist brethren are highly welcome to comment, as well - would love to hear because I am curious whether the C3 is a nice novelty or a similarly iconic car overseas, and to what degree? Thanks.
Again, congrats on your picture perfect car! Beautiful work.

Hello Dave
Thanks for your appreciation and for your question.
There are about 3,000 Corvettes over here (of all years) and there is a relatively small but thriving 'classic American' car scene here. You see plenty of Covettes at car shows but I personally only see 4 or 5 C3's on the road just by chance per year and usually none of them would be 'chrome bumper' cars.
American classics are very well appreciated over here due to their rarity and the fact that they look so different to European cars, I always get plenty of 'thumbs ups' when out and about in mine, whenever I park up someone will want to talk about the car. The general public would not see the Corvette as 'iconic' like you guys do but they do love the look. classic American cars used to be seen as a bit vulgar by classic car clubs over here but that attitude has pretty much disapeared and we are welcomed at all classic car shows and events now.
I don't know the reason why but I've been crazy about old American cars since I was a kid and the C3 is my third American classic.
