With or without converter?

With or without converter?
I'm pulling the motor on a '75 C3. I've never done an automatic car (hard to believe, eh?). I've always pulled engine and tranny together on manual Corvettes. I don't want to pull the tranny with the engine, so, do I leave the touque converter attached to the flywheel or do I separate? Any advice would be apprciated on this. Like I said, never done an automatic car.

Followup question... does the tranny need additional supporting while the engine is pulled out or is the tranny mount sufficiantto hold it in without damage? Sorry for the dumb qurstions...

No dumb questions buddy. I always get a 2x6 or 2x8 block of wood betwen a bottle jack and the trans pan. Jack it up just enough to take the weight of the tranny after the engine is removed. Easy peasy
