Default Hood clearance

Curious how much hood clearence I would gain with a stock 73-74 style "cowl induction" hood over a stock 69 hood. I had a 73 before and seem to recall it was about 2" inside

I know I would need to remove the wiper door and panel

The nexr step would be an L88 style hood.

Would apreciate any actual inside mesurements on the cowl and L88 hoods

Ive seen it done. Was told 73-4 will match up to the fenders, while 75 up will not.

Obviously they are longer and will nessesitate removing the wiper door and grill.

Purists migh tiring, but I think it looks much cleaner

What about an LT-1/big block hood? Still retain the wiper door.

There are some measurements for the L88 hood (short style with wiper door) in the linked thread. My measurements shown on post #40 for my '69. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-l88-hood.html

FWIW: It's my understanding none of the factory long hoods will match up at the fenders on the 68-72 cars.

Clearance will also be relevant to the intake and carb/air cleaner you propose to run.
