Spark Plug Wires
Hello. Thinking of changing my aging spark plug wires on my 69 SBC. Any recommendations, or are they all basically equal? Also wondered what the difference is between AC Delco and AC Delco professional ? Quality, place of manufacture or just marketing hype. Thanks and take care.

Both are 7mm graphite core........I would suspect the place of manufacture and warranty as the only differences.

AC Delco # 9508N wires will be just fine and last for decades.
Wires # 1 3 2 and 4 are the most challenging to change as they go through the boomerang and the motor mounts.
Pull a wire off of the distributor cap and remove the boot.
Tie a string to that wire and pull it out from the spark plug end.
Attach the string to the replacement wire and pull it back up.

ALL of the AC Delco parts are made in foreign countries, I believe. GM has no manufacturing any more...only assembly. But you need to use stock "resistance core" wires, instead of solid core wires, or the EMF noise created will generate lots of static in your radio output.
