For those of you who installed sound insulation, did you install it on the underside of the rear deck? I'm using the Dynamat / Killmat style material. I'm questioning if it will adhere when the car gets hot in the sun (I live in AZ).
I installed a decent sized piece of deadener on the underside of the deck to help. Several years ago without issues. Not^ Arizona though
Only use the non asphalt stuff as I've had issues with that sticking in hot weather

Hey Mooser! Been a long time. Thanks for the advice. What would you recommend that I use in that area? The rest of the interior is covered in the the buytl type backing, but I have no problem picking up something different for the underside of the rear deck.
I used a lot of different stuff in different areas (depending on if it would show after install or not, like just below the heaterbox where the carpet doesn't quite cover etc) but stick to the butyl adhesives types.
That said, I have found that b-quiet(which I usually use) and dynamat seems to have a stronger adhesive than say hushmat or Noico and I'll use them in any overhead areas just in case...
My brother had a street rod a few years ago and the guy who built it used some ashpalt based stuff inside the doors, one day we went to a car show and it was pretty hot during the day, on the way home we got on the highway and went to put the windows up, passenger side would only got part way and stopped, then wouldn't go up or down.
He took it apart when he got home and the deadener had partially come off and folded over onto the window glass, and then stuck when the temp dropped again, black goop smeared all over everything when it tried to go up, more when it tried to go down and finally bound everything up solid. I'll never use that stuff for any vertical work (smells funny on hot days too)

So is that for heat or just sound. I f sound what are you doing for heat shielding.
Hey RV,
Here is a link I saved from a few years ago. I asked a question about interior heat, and it really became an in-depth discussion about it with testing done etc.
