Default Deep jack compartment tray

Is there a demand for a correct 6.5" reproduction (68-74) rear compartment tray?

What would be "a reasonable price". I see the plastic replacement tray selling for $30 and while this is much stronger than a cardboard tray I would guess this project would require a retail of 3-4 times that price. It most likely isn't going to be for the budget minded but rather a show point fanatic doing a high level NCRS restoration

How many would you have to make (and sell) to recoup your initial investment and start making a profit?

Why not make that many and see how long it takes to sell them? For fun.

Yes, I would be interested. A very good original would cost $100 + so $90-&120 would seem reasonable for a correct reproduction.

If we wanted the black flocking material (at least that's what I think it's called), would that be something we would have to do ourselves?
thanks for your time

FYI I believe the one in this picture you posted is a one year only 1968 (has no indent in the front). the sketches you posted later are 69 and up (with the indent). Would you consider making the 68 model tray as well? I know the 68 guys would be all over that if it was done right. Also, some real 68 only front plastic grilles while you are at it!

That picture does have a notch out in front for the lock striker. I assume a 68 doesn't have the notch because they didn't have locks, just the pop up spring? Never saw an original one.
