Default 77 Dash Vent / Deflector

I am unsure if this is a '77 only piece, so please correct me if I'm wrong on that.

On the driver's side lower dash pad there is a small space for a vent / deflector. Does anyone know where I can find one and the associated mounting hardware (if there is any). PO purchased new dash pads that this piece was missing when I purchased the car.

Thanks for any advice with this.

I know nothing about a '77-specific vent for the dash like in your pic. But, if you cannot locate an original piece, Vintage Air (aftermarket A/C vendor) has LOTS of choices for under-dash outlet vents which look very similar.

Found a used one. Keeps the "boys" cool. No hardware required just pops into the dash.

lower dash vent

Thanks for the responses guys. From what I can tell from researching a little, it's a '74 - '77 piece / AC car only. The vent / deflector does just pop into the dash pad like '75 mentioned. The little nubs on each end press into a small recess in the dash pad opening. No one is reproducing these at this point.

Below is what Chevrolet said in their '74 Sales Brochure when introducing this new A/C vent, while describing available air conditioning.

"And now there's an additional cooler outlet on the driver’s side that improves the air circulation over our '73 design."

I remember that vent on the '77 I once owned. In '78 the entire dash changed.

I ended up getting one from a friend. Was pretty tough to get into place, but it fit well once it was in.
