I guess it's all where your height is. I am 6' 4", mostly in the legs - and I have no real issues getting in my 69 convertible. Leg room is OK, but the clutch can be an issue since the release is almost at the end of the peddle
throw. I drove it 70 miles home with no problems...

I'm 6 ft. 2 inch and I have no real problem getting in with good leg room. I fill it up though. I usually tilt the steering wheel up before I get out for a little extra space on the exit and next entry! I have a bit of trouble getting out getting my right foot past the door but have found a way to scoot back a bit and I can clear it. I also have a method getting out and standing up. With the T-tops in, head room is briefly tight but it works. I just wish the telescoping wheel went in a few more inches.
I’m only 5’ 10” but I am maybe potentially probably actually a little heavier than I need to be so when I get out of my 1976 I look like Eddie Hall when he is trying to get out of that Lamborghini...except I can’t deadlift 1,100 lbs... I just eat too many tacos...
You need a small wheel it makes a ton of difference!!
6 3 and getting in my 73 was a nightmare.Sat in a members 79 recently with a smaller wheel and knew I could own a manual C3 again.
WHy cant GM get this right even the c7 are cramped....more room in an old MR2. .
I’m 6’4” and tilt-tele column helps a lot. I bought a another one without tilt-tele and it will get an aftermarket tilt column with a possibility of an quick release steering wheel.

It's really your inseam thats jamming you.
I have a 69...close enough. M-21 Manual
1.Removed the bumpers from the seatbacks...for more rake.
2.Modified the seat tracks (easy) to slam the seats ALL THE WAY to the rear firewall.
3. Removed the hard-shell seat -back for more room....see #1.
4. Made sure that behind the seat was JUST one layer of carpet.
5 1972 Tilt-tele with a 15" wheel...but that is not an issue
6.neither is the fact that it's a two top car....I just don't hit my head.
I fit....Just barely.
I also Have a 82 collector edition with the power seat and the molded clamshells...I fit much better in the 82.
So look for 79-82 seats...with an extra bonus of the power seat....you may have to mess with the floor pocket for the power seat motor.
AHHHHH!
Now you wanna hit your head EVERYDAY LIKE AN IDIOT...drive a 2000 Audi TT! my daily! lol
Unkahal
I’m 6’2” and can feel your pain. Not as flexible as back in the younger days. I have a 72 with tilt, and have done what L-46man has stated plus I have a tilt wheel. Has made it tolerable for me. Added side pipes with no heat shields just to add to the calamity when entering and exiting the car..... but in between I’m smiling all the time. Totally worth it!
6'5" 225, age 75, arthritic as hell, bought my '72 vert in '95, moved south in '97, and have modified hell outta my car for my seating, dropped the seat in back about 2 inches worth, removing the steel feet off the rails, when recovering the seats, left the OEM foam, and removed a few springs, removed seat belt cover for better clearance too.....put in a late shark TT wheel/column.....below the column I cut a wide U shape up the corners and across the floor, pried the glass forward 3" and glassed it all in moved the brake and gas pedals forward by bending and cut/welding.....dropping my knees off the wheel, with the drop in seat height the car allows driving in the James Dean slouch position, right elbow on console pad, left hand on top of wheel.....

God, I"m lazy....yawn.....
got a photo?
I went to see the C3 again the weekend, seat rails could be redrilled to go back a further 1 inch. Anyone installed aftermarket seat? I feel this may be a better way forward? The tops were on and my head was not touching the top. I do drive in a sloughing position
So buy a teli tilt
steering wheel 3 inch shorter
but a bucket seat type of seat instead? could make it a few inches lower?
