Just finished replacing body mounts on my '77 and all went well, thanks to input from the forum THANKS!!
However, now I need to adjust the doors a bit. Passenger side closes fine, but the driver side is a little tight at the rear top, where it goes under the rear pillar when closed. It clears, but you couldn't even put a slip of paper between them. What is the proper way to adjust this position? Not sure if it would be the hinge bolts in the door or the hinge on the birdcage and I can't find that info anywhere. Thanks ahead of time for any feedback.
My door sagged like you describe and I adjusted with the hinge bolts in the door. It might also be a good time to replace your hinge bushings in that door, which I also did. Worn bushings could be part of your problem.
Anyhoo... to adjust the hinge... Lower window, open the door, place a floor jack at the end of the door, loosen bolts slightly at door, lightly lift jack a very small amount, tighten bolts, test fit, repeat as required.
Once the door is fitting you might have to adjust your striker so the door closes properly. At least I had to.
Once the door is closing properly roll up the window and see if it fits correctly, if not adjust the window. I didn't have to adjust the window when I did my hinge but I did when I installed new weather stripping.
Getting everything to fit is not difficult if you take your time and go one step at a time.

I would like suggest a piece of wood or rubber on top of the jack to protect your door paint. And dont slam your door shut. I slowly push mine closed to make sure the stricker isnt out of alignment causing a jam
