Hey guys, is there any preference for spray paint for doing touch up? I need to paint the areas of the side gills and side view mirrors since they were glassed in and those areas are gray
68. Cool Do you know what type of paint is on the Vette now? If not you could run into some issues. Have you considered a full repaint? If A full spray is not going to happen, I would panel paint the car. By this I mean I would mask the rest of the car and paint the panels one at a time. Trying to spot the panels will not give the best results.
I have no clue what kind of paint it is. Underneath the white I can see dark blue where it’s been chipped and behind the door panels it’s a copper orange colour.
The paint is bad, the clear is coming off on some parts exposing a matte finish. The quotes I got for paint are $5000 plus and I don’t have that much to spend in the near future.
Go to a GOOD auto body supply house.Most have a "scanner" to identify the correct color formula to match.(even if the original is faded or unknown). Find a spot that is not seen,like under the front valence,and test paint to see if there is a compatibility issue. Lacquer,enamel,etc.Most of those paint stores can package paint in spray cans for you.
