I know this post is a "long shot" but back in the Fall of 1969 I bought a new Riverside Gold over Saddle Tan Corvette coupe from Star Chevrolet in East Orange, NJ. It had a 350/350 engine, 4-speed, posi-traction, PB, PS, A/C, and the silver inserts in the front fenders. When I sold it, it had had its fenders mildly flared, Appliance polished aluminum wheels, and a Firemist Chestnut--a Cadillac/Fisher Body paint color--full-length custom stripe. See photos below. I apologize for the picture quality, but these were just quickly scanned almost 50-year-old slides I had.
While going through some old papers, mementos, family photos, etc., I came across my "Corvette Owner Card" from that '69. So now I'm curious to see if the car is still out there in some form somewhere. The Serial No. is 194379S 737959. I'd be amazed to hear from anyone who owns the car now, and I'd love to see what shape it's in.
Good ol' Earl Scheib...LOL! I'm originally from Bloomfield, close by. Actually the stripe--and "T" design--was done by Terry Browning of Browning Automotive in Asbury Park. (I forget what body/custom shop I had do the flares.) I used to live in Pt. Pleasant Beach for summers and met a fellow there with a Vette that had been striped by Terry, so he sent me over there.
Thanks for the link to the registry! I had found out from another site that about 23,800 (I forget the exact number) cars were built in 1969, and mine was about 800 from the end.
