I am planning on using hood pins on my build instead of the original hood latches. Anyone use these and can show me where they mounted the pins?
Thanks.
My '68 has them mounted where the stock latches are. Sorry, don't have a better picture because I am still working on the car and haven't re-mounted them yet.
I always thought that Hood Pins made more sense than all those cables, releases, handle, etc. They seem to break at the most inopportune time and leave owners with a hood that fails to open. And that could be a nightmare if you had a carb fire.
But I know why GM did the cable system, for security purposes, locking out wanna-be engine part thieves. I suppose if you had to, a padlock might fit through the pin.
