Carpet door inserts
The trim is held on with a few phillips screws and washer from the backside. once the trim comes out you rip off the old carpet.
it may be glued on. and there are staples all aound the inside edge to hold it down.
the new ones are usually a bit oversize and need to be trimmed to fit. not a huge deal.
place them in the position with about 1/4 inch vinyl inset on the front. fold over the vinyl edges so get a cleaner look. I use upholstery glue to attach the vinyl portion to the door and leave the carpet loose.
use the holes or trim as a guide to cut the carpet edger. so itll tuck under the trim. you can finish by stapling the edges on the inside. I used a really nice contact adhesive on new door panels and felt it wasnt necessary as it held pretty good

Doing upgrades and repairs to the door panels are relatively simple matters...unless you decide to put new vinyl skin on the interior surface!!
I've done that; never want to do it again.trim, carpet section, etc. are not difficult at all. And taking the panel off the door is not that difficult, either. Remove screws at all corners; remove lock **** (with correct tool or 'other' home method); lift release handle about one inch and slide panel forward over that handle. Done!
