Stingray or not a Stingray
So my silly question is, my '79 sure LOOKS like a Stingray....why isn't it one? What makes it NOT a Stingray?

Lots of people refer to C3s as "Stingrays", thanks to the marketing (and emblem) that GM applied from 69 to 76. People have complimented me on my "Stingray" when I'm in my wife's 79 (less so with the 80). If anything, I refer to them as a sharks, after the Mako Shark concept, or Vettes, or C3s.
It's a C3 Corvette. Go drive it and enjoy it!
Watch to the 1 minute mark:
Sorry about the "again" thingy.....I have found some things are worth 'doing again'

Little chilly today....will be near 70 tomorrow....definitely going for a ride in my "non" Stingray.
'Sanks for the replies.

RIGHT THERE AT THE TOP IN THE FIRST SENTENCE.....BWAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!!!! !!!!
Yes, yes yes. The 68 was rushed into production, stuff was taped on to get it through acceptance of the top dogs, research the air dam cooling system, and stuff like the emblems and trim taht was intended wasnt available or ready yet tso they scraped it and it made it to the 69. So is your car a Sting Ray. Yes, all c3 corvettes are as they were intended to be, its just what option the Original Owner could afford or knew about to add to the order sheet.
In the end, make it yours, drive it like you want to and love it for what it is.........., Americas Sports Car. I dont hink they made a good one since.....
