is the jegs motor a one piece seal roller, or old school?
for that $1600 spent at Jegs, me thinks it's likely a reman 1 pc rms Non-vortec ~ 0.040" overbored w/ flat tappet
on the other hand, that all-new Radley L31 GM pn 12681431 has roller lifters & vortecs ... $100 spend-anywhere gift card ... and Radley's been accepting offers.
Likely would've been delivered for ~ $1700 (jegs gets nearly $2300 for same).
on another note ... & only 1 iffy photo ... me thinks his wrecked crank is OE nodular cast iron but still in one pile ... a testament to just how tough they can be.

It was an all original motor... and I ordered a Chevy Performance long block, rated at 195 but capable of 260, non-vortec yeah. I'm transplanting my intake manifold, carburetor, headers, etc. onto the new motor.

Be happy you can save that much. Last one I had really let go on me, I got a Carb and rocker covers. IT punched out hard. Cracked the water pump.
