Default Check engine light

I was attending a car show and when I started my 1982 corvette it was idling rough and the check engine light came on after 2 restarts the light went out and I went home with no issues anybody have any suggestions
As too what it could have been?
it was extremely hot and the car was sitting for 4 hours
I’ve checked the oil and it’s full

It could be a few things...most of them not really big issues. It could have been a 'transient' condition: something in the fuel that caused a burp in the converter, then cleared itself; maybe a sensor that is on the edge of going bad or sending a 'marginal' reading. If no code was recorded, not much to be concerned about. If it has a code, follow it up to check those possibilities.

If it happens again, you might want to replace some old sensors (temp, O2, TPS, MAP, etc).
