In an abstract kind of way, I like this car, except the tail lights and the spoiler. I'm just not sure how much I would hate myself in to morning if I threw a $1G or $2G at it for fun. It would kind of fit into my survivor collection, admittedly, all the way to the back....
The car was totaled for that little bit of damage to the nose. Tells you something about the actual condition of the car. It's a car was worth 15K before it got hit, it would not be totaled with $6000 worth of damage. I bought my 75 convertible on copart. My salvage cert says it needs a hood. And that's all. It was a very light nose hit. Very ugly badly aged paint. Paid 2500 plus fees and shipping.

You also have to remember the cost of paint work. That may have a lacquer paint job and you cant blend enamel to lacquer so it could have caused to to paint the entire car and if they tried to duplicate whats on there that could have easily exceeded 15k.
If I were considering it I would buy it and plasti dip the new parts till I decided to paint the car.
In this case the car is no longer owned by the only person who considered that paint pretty. Every prospective buyer would be hauling the car to the paint shop on the way home. I mean prospective buyer after repair. The paint is worse damage than the nose hit. And Copart is good at taking pics that show the whole car and show none of the paint condition. That being said the car is worth the 2k to 3500 it is gonna sell for. You need a broker to bid. Cost you 200 more. 3k is about 700 more in fees I think.

I just looked at copart and it's sold ... but How Much?
Copart you have to log into the auction and watch it sell to see price it goes for. Not sure if you have to be a member or not to do so. They remove sale price within an hour after auction ends. Their retail price is blue book for that car in #1 condition. Not an as-is value.
