So you're saying that there are no competent mechanics in your area?
Sounds like you know even less about engines than your mechanic does. That's unfortunate, for your bank account.
Sorry to tell you guys, but a 4 bolt is the only option for me,

Either one of those is a good option. They both have nice reasonable roller cams and good vortec iron heads and should last basically forever.
The 4 bolt version has a brand new block and intake and carb, so it is more complete.
But it won't last a minute longer or make 1hp more just cause it's a 4-bolt.

Hi goodpeople. I am looking for a engine for my 1968 Corvette. I can not use the old one since it is a 2 bolt. I don’t want an engine with a crazy amount of horespower, somewhere around 300 would be nice. I am looking for a complete engine with carb. So far I have found this https://blueprintengines.com/product...or-bp35511ctc1 it doesn’t have to high compression ratio, which i want. Do you have any other recomandations or is this the perfect engine? Your answer is much appreciated
