Ordered from willcox, great carpet set! I was shocked at how little trimming was needed. I cut holes for seat and seat belts, a little trimming around the screw holes for the center console side walls and that was it. Between the new carpet and the new leather seats I put in a couple months ago it smells like a new car, love it! Thankfully no rust in the floor pans
The only adhesive I used was along the edge in front of the cargo compartments, even the instructions said that adhesive was generally not needed, it was molded so well it just layed down almost perfect
Should you ever be driving the car when raining, its a VERY good idea to put some plastic hole plugs in those floor drain holes from the underside. You need the drain holes available, should you ever spill something; but the holes should be [temporarily] sealed during use. If driving in rain with those holes 'open', water WILL wick up through the holes and into the carpet and it will likely show a stain when it dries. [don't ask me how I know this...]

Awesome... glad the work we put into ACC fixing the molds paid off.
As far as glue... the only place you'll need glue on this installation is the kick panels and the shift console side panels. That being said, some people like to cut the carpet from the rear compartment area and insert the new and that will require glue as well... for us it's cheaper to buy the RCU assembly in the same color than to rebuild the original one.

And the glue is only applied between the carpet and the heat/sound barrier? Adhesive between barrier and floor will loosen up due to heat?
Also, in photo above, I see the foil exposed. Shouldn't the foil be face down?
I picked up a 1976 Vette in rough shape, someone’s failed project. Compared to mine yours is in great shape & running & driving & a steel bumper car. Enjoy it, drive it & fix or sell it. We already did a frame swap on mine. - so far I have about $2500. In mine. My son & I have built quite a few muscle cars, none are show cars. But, run well & are safe. This our first Vette build, it will be a low buck build.
Enjoy your car, you can fix those mounts Later on. I would buy those replacement mounts, cut them out & weld the new mounts in. If this is out of your wheelhouse, find someone who is comfortable cutting & welding in the mounts. That’s a good looking car & I’m sure it needs far less work than what we are fixing. Enjoy & good luck!
