Are 72 LT1s sprung stiff? Or same as base small block?

Same suspension as with the base 350 engine L-48. For a better suspension, the ZR-1 option package included all the "heavy-duty" options, including the suspension package and the LT-1 engine.

how old are your tires, if over 10 years old, you need new ones.
if not old, how many pounds of cold tire pressure do you run?

My 72 Lt1 feels very stiff in the back end also, nothing like a newer c5/c6, it’s probably normal given that stack of leaf springs in the back.

“The [LT-1] rides like a truck. It shakes so badly on normal roadways that you have to hang on to the wheel just to keep it from bouncing out of your grip. The fiberglass body twists like a snake, and the big V-8 idles so lumpily at 700-800 rpm that it seems to be doing a jig all over the engine compartment. How can anyone love a beast like that?”

I think there is only one solution. Give it to me so I can have two, too!

I'm going to find some wore out springs for it. I don't like it.
