My experience with aftermarket flex fans was not good. The flex fan threw a blade and it destroyed the bottom of the fan shroud. If the blade would have been tossed upward, we would have been looking at a new hood and paint.
When I used flex fans in the past, I quickly found that they just do not cool as well as a factory clutch fan. Just my .02 worth.
Exactly this!! I replaced the flex fan on my '73 that was on it when I bought it with a stock OEM setup. Running temps dropped and helped with my overheating issues.
