Rear deck contact
Any ideas on how to adjust top so that rear makes complete contact with deck? I have lowered it using the mounting bolts, yet I still have this gap.
Assume what you call the mounting bolts are what I call the bullet bolts, one each side, that go into the top of the rear deck.
If you are out of threads there, there are 2 more bolts on each side that hold the whole soft top frame to the base of the B pillar or rear frame near the rear top of each door. The soft top frame and the birdcage farm matching surfaces are cross hatched to help hold the setting in place. I would loosen those 4 bolts and make further adjustments there.
Good luck and hope this helps. Nice 69 Corvette! Going to Cruisin' the Coast this year?
20mercury. I was referring to the 4 bolts on the sides. Ive lowered the brackets as low as possible and still can’t get gap closed. Id love to go to the coast this year. Ive personally never been but know several folks that have. They say it’s awesome

Just lowering the side brackets isn't enough. You need to loosen both sides and pitch the top assembly backward until you have the rear seated against the deck lid.
Once you have the rear deck lid pitched correctly (and have taken care to align the height of the side frame weather strip with the windows) then you "should" be able to latch the front bow provided the top was installed correctly and was not cut too short.
If it's cut too short at the pinch welt during installation then you end up with what you have in your photo.

Oh well, then Hammerhead might be correct, maybe cut a little short on the fabric. One more thought for you, let it sit up out in the hot sun all day and see if that helps. I noticed when the top stays folded under the deck for a long time, it was hard for mine to fasten.
And, suggest you try to make Cruisin the Coast one year, I think that they had 8 or 9k autos over 25 years old registered last year. Fun and free car show on hwy 90. All the best!
thanks all. I loosened the 4 bolts with the top in place and was able to get it sealed up. Thanks much for your advice. I left it in place to allow it to stretch for a while
those tops, and everything else made of canvas that sit in the sun shrink with time. it could have been made to the right dimensions, then Ra the Sun God altered it...
