I am working on the fuel line issues I have and I am considering replacing the supply and return lines. The prior owner cut and capped the return line and abandon the oem filter with the return nipple :-( .... my question is... is it possible to install a new set of lines with out lifting the body off? The trick part looks to be the section that runs up and over the rear wheels.
You definitely can not do it with Stainless Steel lines. If body is on car, line must be bent to fit into the car, then straighten back out, once installed.
You could cut the line where that bend should be made and install two 'halves' of the fuel line; then tie together with good quality compression fitting or flares and union.
I certainly would not pull the body just to get a new fuel line in place!!!
Thanks for the response.... I was not planning to use stainless steel... just milled steel (oem)... does that make it feasible to install with the body on? I have no problem hand bending the lines to fit during install... I just want to make sure its a reasonable thing to attempt :-) other wise I may just continue on with-out the return line for the time being.
It is a REAL pain at the rear wheel arch....nearly impossible.....as the other member said--
Use sections of regular steel fuel line joined with leakproof compression couplings/unions.
Risking cracking the fiberglass body isn't a good thing while lifting the body.

Thank you, that's what I wanted to know...well... I was hoping it was doable... but I wanted to know if I should attempt it... I have my answer :-) Thanks everyone.
