Forecasters say it may gain some strength by morning and be a cat 2. Expected to fully hit in the afternoon and move out by Sunday morning. Spent the afternoon securing yard stuff. Juan hit here 16 years ago. I was hoping to never go through another hurricane. Wife and I are supposed to start a road trip Sunday morning going as far as Ohio picking up vette parts and stuff. Any property damage will cancel those plans.
Okay guys and gals . I live on the Outer Banks of NC. Kill Devil Hills . And we just survived the hurricane . I was a rough night and we had a few limbs down . We Lost power before the storm hit and only got it back on yesterday . About 440 pm . Just a few miles south and our friends didn't fare so well .
They are open the island back up today at 400 pm for tourists. Man was it nice with no one here yesterday . But I have to say that for all the people who drove down the day after the storm knowing the island was closed . Is rude and incredibly dump . We are here with no power and trying to clean up . Trying to get our lives back in order . And help our neighbors. By you trying to be the frist people back you are taking away from our efforts to get the beach ready for you all to come back . I saw on face book people asking for a place to stay because they drove down 8 hours from Ohio . And are now stuck and are not allowed to come across the bridge. We all I can say is turn around and carry your asses back to Ohio.
Sorry about that I just needed to vent a little . I will get more pictures up later today .
It's amazing how the storm after so many days is still ruining things for citizens along the Atlantic coast. We were able to visit your areas about 3 years ago and the scenery was beautiful. I hope the waters recede rapidly for you all.
Hopefully, we won't need this thread for the rest of 2019 once Dorian wears itself out.

Did ok. The eye passed through Halifax. So a direct hit and Dorian moved nort east through the province and into the gulf of st lawrence downgraded to post tropical cyclone. We had wind gusts over 100 mph. 70 mm of rain. It was all over by midnight. I had one tree blow down on lawn. No property damage for me. Lots of folks not so lucky with falling trees on homes and vehicles. 60% of the province without power at one point. My roadtrip wasn't delayed. Spending tonight in Freeport Maine. Hope others affected by hurricane made out ok.
