Default Replacing old vacuum lines + collant hose

Hey everyone

1. I'm gonna replace all the vacuum line that were connected to my old intake and carb (some of them broke off when removed or were already damaged).
All the vacuum lines are original so they are brittle.

I will take the original lines I took off to a local shop that sells these new.
I guess there is nothing special about the vacuum lines used in these cars?

Maybe there are better materials today that I can use?

2. I also have to replace the coolant hose that goes to the passenger side of the intake (RH).
What are the options here? Material?
Can I give some extra length so there is less stress on the connection pieces?

I think I saw some early pictures of your engine and you had (have A/C)? If you are replacing both heater hoses and you have a A/C heater core you want these for your 77.
Gates #28473 5/8" 60" long 90* molded heater hose
Gates #28481 3/4" 60" long 90* molded heater hose
Plenty long, with or without using the inline vacuum hot water shutoff valve.
I know your overseas.

As far as vacuum hoses, make sure they are heavy wall and rated for vacuum use.

There is nothing 'special' about the vacuum lines. But they ARE color-coded so you know how they connect. Most all of them have a colored stripe. The others are just stock, black vacuum line. If you just want to make it operational, you can identify the ends of each line so that you route them correctly. Or you can purchase a complete set of color-coded lines from one of the aftermarket Corvette parts suppliers.

I would recommend at vacuum line kit for your car.

you get all the correct hoses, with the correct colored stripes. and you get a nice numbered diagram of how to hook everything up.

I just did this on my 68, and it was really helpful, especially since the previous owner had some of the vacuum lines connected incorrectly.

I would second this - I recently bought a complete kit for my 69 - it's pretty easy to do except for the under dash area where you have to pull back
the dash a bit to install.

Be very careful removing the heater hoses from the heater core, if the tubes move they can break.

That is the size of the hose in 'inches' you might have to convert to 'metric'.

Great kits for every system with excellent illustrations. Tees and clamps are included where needed.

If you have an automatic transmission don't forget to replace the small section of hose that connects to the modulator valve. I didn't and with new hoses everywhere else that one failed on the first test drive!
