Default Paint

Can anybody tell me what kind of paint they used for the torch red in 1980 is it acrylic lacquer no clear coat or acrylic enamel with a clear coat

Original was acrylic lacquer with no clear coat.

Previous owner said paint was redone about 3 years ago...... how would they have repainted it ....he doesn't know because that's the way he got it.... he said the paint was $2,800 which seems a little low to me..... would they have just scuffed up the car and top-coated it or would they have stripped it and painted it ....would they have used lacquer or enamel and is there any way to be able to tell what they used

Lacquer paint is hard to come by. My bet is single stage enamel.
