Also just looking at Dave02;s picture , the link (6) that joins onto the handle (7) , doesn't seem to show the tiny clip that goes onto that join , without it on there the rod can bind up and you have trouble opening that door
That's the info I was looking for. I should have said nuts and not bolt. I only see the forward facing nut. Gonna have to feel for the 'hidden' one, lol.
I don’t think the gold washer setup is right. The bolt will fall out when the rail is unbolted. Plus it sticks out too far imo.
I have rebuilt 4 doors from start to finish but I never went as far as removal of the bolts from the glass (didn't have to ) , but my spare glass here has the silver cad nut (with the two holes for a tool to tighten ! ) up against the white rubber and boy is it tight .Maybe try it on over the white but reverse it so the threaded protruding part goes toward the glass .
Richard,
The top right corner bolt (in your picture) is the one I"m struggling with. It appears to have both the plastic washer AND a metal threaded washer on the nut side. I must not have the correct metal threaded washer.

HA- the only reason I was sure- is I JUST took mine apart...If you had waited till tomorrow...I might not be posting- but waiting for someone to answer...!!!
I just ran my brackets through the polishing wheel- it really did a number on them- some good lithium grease and my windows should glide up and down like they are supposed to.
BTW- I have my lock assembly soaking in gasoline- it really cleaned up NICE!!!
Looks great! I also noticed that on the Opposite side of that same bolt, I need to make a rubber washer. The washer on the bolt had some rubber on it, but I need I need a bit more cushion. The old rubber washers had fallen apart.
I ordered some paint today to respray the inside of the doors and jams while they are off the car. I can't handle the poor finish and since im literally upgrading the entire interior to new, I don't want crappy door jams. It's likely going to be a couple months before I start reassembling. I spent way to much money on Eckler's this past weekend, lol. Pretty much everything but the dash and it currently has a dash cap that doesn't look to bad. I can always replace that later; the current dash has a bit of the corner cut off so that I can get it in and out of the car easily. Left and right lower dash, all new center console, new carpet, new DS floor pan. I think the wiring is in decent shape, so I'm just going to make sure that everything is sorted properly in respect to all of the electronic crap that I have installed (most of which I forgot how I installed/wired since it was 10 years ago). I also had a bad habit when I was younger, of simply disconnecting things that didn't work. When this was my daily driver, I didn't have the time or the money to fix minor things. My goal is to get everything working, except for the seat belt alarms of course, lol. This car also had a factory alarm system which I won't mess with. Kind of cool though, has a key in the fender, not sure what it does when setoff. After I finish the doors, I'll start a new thread for the rest of the interior even though its been done many times before, I am sure.

Something is wrong with me...I couldn’t leave well enough alone. I decided to take off my perfectly good door weatherstripping because it had a lot of sloppy adhesive. Now I need to sand down, prime and repaint everything AND buy new door weatherstripping, lol.
