Plastic piece?

Hello

what is this plastic piece? I found it in my passengerdoor..

It's a shield that goes over the door lock so you can't stick a screw driver or other tool down between the glass and the door to open it. 2 screws hold it on from the latch end of the door.

+1. I think GM called then "dust shields", however, I believe we all know them as "security shields".

Many of these parts never made it back onto the car when removed for service or paint. I found these to be a real HOOT to re-install myself!

Yes. PITA to install, but it also helps keep water out of the mechanism. If you never leave the car outside, or drive in the rain, toss it in a drawer.

Goes in like this. I was mistaken in my previous post, 1 of the 2 screws is behind the door panel.
