Fire Extinguisher Mount
Amerex extinguisher bracket for C3. Vetteworks.

Wiper motor shorted out. When the engine quit, I got safely to a parking lot. Grabbed the extinguisher off the seat, popped the hood and started fogging. Got the fire out quickly, but, and it's a huge butt. Your "regular" fire extinguisher will corrode almost any metal it touches. Did mail order from an off road outfit for a Halon (might not be right spelling) extinguisher, It robs the fire of air and leaves no harmful residue. Mine is 3.5lbs and cost right at 160.00. The "small quickly extinguished" fire did 8,500 dollars damage to my '70 big block. B.T.W. I have Hagerty Ins. and they were solid gold from start to finish. Everyone I spoke to did all they could to put me at ease and get my buddy back on the road. The adjuster was well versed in C-3's. If someone rides with me, I put the extinguisher behind the seat bulkhead. Many might think my might 'storage' technique dangerous, but not me. Getting the car safely stopped, door and hood open and fighting the fire is a pants changing experience. It's not corny to suggest you "practice" the drill and pray it never happens.
Cautious on the Gulf Coast.
Two separate claims, Hagerty's contract adjuster (Not an employee of H) hardly knew difference between a C-3 roadster and a C-10 pickup. She was probably sharp on steel drivers; Not collectibles.

just one comment, leaving the fire extinguisher on the seat is inherently dangerous.
anything left lose in the passenger compartment can become a missile in an impact.
I have seen a Golden Retriever from the front seat KILL the passenger in the front passenger seat. An 80 lb dog can do a lot of damage.
I have also seen people with broken noses from their pocket books, left on the passenger seat.
They make a seat mount bracket for a reason.

Jarhead 74 Vette brings up a very good point. While owners are taking time to make sure they have a secure mount of the fire extinguisher bracket to the car, The fire extinguisher bracket may be unsafe in an accident.
I track my car and have a roll bar and track my car at Time Trials and HPDE. The inspector made me remove my fire extinguisher for that reason. If I rolled my car the fire extinguisher might become (as stated by Jarhead 74 Vette an “airborne projectile inside the car”.
So, my question is, are there any extinguishers with brackets that would be safe in an accident or rollover AND allow for easy removal????
The Halogen systems look nice, butr are expensive. Then again, so I my car.
Does anyone know if the https://elementfire.com/ works?
