I discovered the rear jack compartment lid loop handle on my 69 is located on the wrong (right) side of the lock mechanism . I noticed this when I went to place the underside lid decals on and could not fit the jacking instruction decal above the positraction decal without overlapping the hold down nut for the loop handle which would leave the upper left part of decal unattached. Every photo I see of the jack lid underside has the loop handle nut to the left of the lock . What gives? Did previous owner incorrectly install jack lid cover? Any way to correct this? It gets kind of frustrating when you can not even put decals where there supposed to be without running into a problem!!!
Here is a couple of photos of the locks and push button locations for 1969. MelWff is correct - only the center storage compartment has a lock. Driver side and passenger side storage compartments are push buttons - no lock. Also sending along photo of the removable storage compartment that sits above the jack. This one is original to the car and was recently decoded as 272668 being 2nd shift - 7th month (July) - 26th day of July - 1968 which matches up with our car's build date.

Kevin, just a FYI, that is early production 69, later on they no longer used the metal lift tabs and switched to fabricate loops, not sure about when the change occurred.
MelWff, not intending to hyjack scott1959's starter thread but discovered something new to me in the link that you sent which I believe was 1972 label locations on the storage compartments (photo below). Until just now, I did not know that there was a label on the bottom of the center storage compartment for a 1969. Our car does not have a label on the bottom of the center compartment. Not sure if it fell off, was never there in the first place, or if the center compartment has been replaced by one of the previous owners and the label was never replaced??
Would you happen to know if the label on the center storage compartment was used for late 1968 and early 1969 Corvettes. Or have a photo of one?
Sorry Scott - I'm currently working on my storage compartments too and just realized that I might be missing a label on the center storage compartment.
I cannt even make out what is on that label in the center compartment. I know on my 69, which I have had since 73, I do not remember a label.
Found it, not on 1969 https://www.corvettecentral.com/c3-6...l%26count%3d43

Oh, thank you for that MelWff. I was looking in the 68-69 Tech Manual and Judging Guide book and could not locate anything. Scott, one more piece of the puzzle for your 1969 - there is no recommended maintenance schedule sticker on the center compartment thanks to MelWff's investigative work. It was present for 70-71 per the link from Corvette Central which I also use as my primary go-to vendor for parts.
Thank you for all the information! The placement of your jack compartment decals I have not seen before on a 69. I was going by the Dobbins book Vettevues which shows the jack compartment decals with the jacking instructions decal placed above the positraction decal on the right hand side of compartment lid. I guess the was no specific placement for these decals done at the factory on the lid since your decals appear old and original to your car and differ from others I have seen. Also, I was not aware that there was an upper tray in the jack compartment ! My car did not have any when I got it. Can these be obtained in repro form anywhere?

I believe the label sticker locations on the passenger side are in the correct location for 1969. See also Post #9 which shows labels in the very same location as those on my 1969. Should be correct.
These reproduction trays would not score points in NCRS Judging events but then again that does not matter if you are not intending for the car to be Bloomington Gold original. The original trays are a pressed fiber board material, with a black matt flock material sprayed in them.

If anyone knows where to source the flat black flocking spray for the inside of the center and passenger storage compartments, could you please post a link to it or share where it can be purchased. I looked on Corvette Central and only found low gloss black spray paint - no flocking!

My car is a Dec -69 and have the jacking label above the posi and no label on the center door. Maybe there is no right or wrong, it could be interesting to see the label locations on a car without posi axle.

Well that is very interesting. Our car's build date was October 31, 1968 so just a few months earlier than your December build. Obviously, there are some different locations for those three labels on the bottom of the passenger / jack compartment. I have an older version of the 68-69 NCRS Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide and there is mention of the labels but the older version does not have any pictures of the labels.

I have the latest version of the NCRS Judging Guide (even if I´m not doing a NCRS restauration), I can check what it says regarding the stickers later today.
