Hey all. I'm new to the Corvette world but looking to get a C3 in the near future. Hoping I can learn from the expertise of this forum.
I would love to have the interior cargo space that the bubble window fastbacks (1978-82) have... however I also really like the chrome bumpers and the chrome egg crate side fender vents of the early C3s. I attached photos below of this exact combination - owner is someone by the name of Hans Karlsson.
Anyone know how this hybrid was made? I'm guessing this is an early C3 with a bubble window modification/addition... are these kits readily available? Thanks in advance.
Agree... a later C2 mod given there's no split window. Would this be a massive pain in the *** to create?
Definitely not a weekend project. If I had to guess, I'd say that the rear deck area was cut out, and a C2 donor car provided the new parts that were grafted in (unless a kit like this was available in the 70's). It definitely looks well done.
if you are asking if it can be done, yes. since you are asking, i would strongly recommend you do not attempt it. anybody who can do this wants 100 bucks an hour to do it.
a chrome nose on a 80-82 with the chrome sort-of conversion rear bumper cover is the most doable version. read priya or doorgunner's conversion to get an idea how much work a real 72 tail light panel graft is.

Very nice custom. Looks well done and has that looks like it came that way look to it. It seems to me to be a 70-72 with a 64-67 rear deck panel grafted on. 👍😎
