After an hour of bending through the twistys in north Georgia, my girl friend is about ready to pull the keys and throw them out of the window. She doesn't have anything to hold on to. I have the steering wheel to hold on to which keeps me stable but she has nothing.
Does someone make a handle for a C3 that mounts on the A pillar for the passenger? Did Corvette ever have one?
This is why I put C4 seats in my C3. Missus was always hanging onto the door pull and I figured it was only a matter of time before the screws pulled out of the sheetmetal lol.

I'm sure those would be better.
Right after I got the car I pulled the flat pre-pace car edition seats out and put in the 79 style seats with bolsters. They are more comfortable and do supply some lateral support but not as much as the C4 style, I'm sure.
I don't think you can put in a Jeep-style "oh ****" handle without drilling into the dash, but the center armrest is a replaceable bolt-on part that is fairly well secured. I painted mine with zinc oxide primer, though the Christmas effect is lost when installed. If you wanted to bolt on a handle, I'd try there.
The front end is only held onto the plastic trim, so perhaps a hidden reinforcement would help, too.

You could add a grab-handle to the passenger dash pad; but you would need to extend some metal supports from the underlying sub-frame so that it would hold up. If you could find a cushioned one from aftermarket or from 60's/70's vintage salvage, it would provide some added impact containment, rather than only the upper dash pad.
Other options are to install better seats and/or 4/5-point racing belts.
