Default 1980 Telescoping Sunvisor Sagging

Hey guys,

I was hoping someone might have a trick to keep the driver's side telescoping sunvisor from slowly dropping down...

Anyone?

I put a very small finishing nail between the gap in the nylon bushing to spread it out on my 80. then snip the excess off.

I replaced the plastic bushings in both my sun visors and it solved the problem

I removed the bushings and put some 3m strip caulk on the inside of them, and then installed them again. The caulk always remains sticky and it holds the sun visor in place, but you can still move it.

It is a bubba repair but it works.

Default aluminum tape

There is a white split bushing that surrounds the sunvisor pin...it gets worn.
Take the assy apart by sliding off the sun visor. After removing cir-clip
Open the split bushing. Clean the inside.
Take Aluminum Tape...the stuff for ducts, but NOT duct tape! and put one 'round of it' around the pin and reassemble, about 1/2 inch (edit)
If it still sags, put another round on the pin.

Mine; AZ heat, 100 mph, T-tops off, Sunvisor in 'full air deflector mode'....still working after 5 years. ZCO (zero cost option! lol)

Cheers Unkahal
