Can you start your car with the battery tender still connected
still charging

I don't see how it would be any different than starting with jump cables attached. I wouldn't think it would damage the car. It could maybe confuse the battery tender but unsure if it would cause damage.

Yes you can. Is it good for the Tender? Likely not, because its getting a extra shot of 12 V from an outside source, the ALT.
If I remember, I disconnect the GRD alligator clip before starting the vehicle.

I believe my battery tender instructions say to unplug and disconnect before starting, but those are trickle chargers.

any charger, upon seeing 13.5 or whatever will stop or greatly reduce charge level. any charger except a digital schumacher that i have disconnected the blown out digital part on...

The 'shock' of voltage changes during the start cycle might damage a trickle charger.
