I've been fortunate enough in life that I'm not getting a check either, not by a long shot. I'm absolutely fine with that. There are a whole lot of people out there really struggling right now that can use any help they can get. For those of you complaint-bragging that you're too rich to get a check, you've already gotten your fair share.

I'm also still driving to work everyday, commuting through the I-95 COVID checkpoint, to run a company that hasn't furloughed a single employee since this started, although most are working from home. I found out today that we're just a little too big for an SBA PPP loan, so we'll keep doing it the hard way. I'll give up my own paycheck before I put a single mother on the street right now in the current employment market.

Congratulations on taking care of your people. When people feel that they are an integral part of the organization they have a sense of ownership and will work accordingly.

Unless of course you're the Captain of an aircraft Carrier with 5000 people living in the closest quarters possible. Crozier should get a Congressional Medal of honor instead of being fired.
ACTING Sec'y of the Navy Modley should not only be fired but have to work in an ICU for a month!

I get the purpose of the stimulus checks, and certainly not opposed to it for the truly needy or those hurt by unexpected events (like health, or personal tragedy). Everybody who can should have at LEAST 3-4 months liquid money saved. That should almost be a national requirement. Not to rant, but there are sooo many people in my area and in our region, people I used to work with who spend irresponsibly, more toys, TVs, guns and new trucks than they can afford, haven't saved a damn dime when they certainly could have given up a little and squirreled some away. They *could* have saved, but elected not to. I grew up poor (wife too) and we worked/saved/studied/gave up 'stuff' but it didn't happen by accident. Let's not celebrate or reward financial stupidity.

Sounds cruel BUT throwing 2 trillion ..or 4 trillion (ultimately) onto the already burdening debt is only going to lead to the next financial disaster which will probably be a lot greater and hurt even more people. Interest service on the national debt is a silent killer keeping our infrastructure and investment in people/businessses from blossoming and keeps the US from being world leaders (service on the debt will soon equal military spending). Just think what this country could do with those billions of dollars each yr to spend on improving infrastructure, investment in technology or support structure to help raise the lot of the truly needy?? https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/...itary-spending

But for the truly needy I'm always there to help ...because I've been there in the dirt and understand how poverty begets poverty, and is sooo difficult to climb out of. A turning point for me was after college, someone I knew pretty well, and didn't think they had much money, went and bought a house with CASH. Wrote a check out for the whole thing. I was stunned. I asked how they did it and they said they gave up expensive toys and save for years. Ok, the house was modest (like $130k -- 30 yrs ago), but that stunned me, and changed my thinking on saving/investing a little at a time. I know a few people who give up 'goodies' and are great savers. This economy isn't going to hurt them either.

Anyway to the OP, I vote for spending it on something that will spread the money around and help local people/businesses. You get something, they get something. And please be safe!!

.

Plz put the money back into the local economy, that is the purpose of it.
We should be getting $2400, dont really need it, but plan on spending all of it locally.

Why are so many of you not getting a check?

Most of ours is going towards medical bills, but we're thankful to get it. Sounds like most of you will be doing some good with it!

Anytime the Govt wants to give us money, a red light should not only go off, but should be flashing like a four-way LED hazard light.

We should be asking, What's The Catch? Somehow, some way, some day, we will pay (back every cent & then some).

Anyway, I am excited in anticipation and hopefully a Edelbrock Air Gap 7501 is in the works for me.
