I was looking through some old parts in the barn and I found these spark plug wires. I remember I got them with a 68 corvette I purchased some time ago. These shielded wires (I think) are for a small block.Anyone ever heard of this?
Thanks Chuck
Chuck,
I am not seeing any picture/s. Braided (shielded) plug wires were used on big blocks for a number of years. Don’t know that there were any for small blocks. Are the ones you have Delcos? If so, look on the wires themselves for a date stamped in grayish/white ink. Like 4 Q 69. That would help determine exactly what you have.
Shielded (wire braid) wires are available for SBC's on a 'cut-to-fit' basis. It's a bit of a pain, but do-able if you are precise and good at this stuff.
I am unaware of a company that makes pre-cut SBC braided wires.
The 'problem' with BB braided wires is the YARDS of excess wire...ends up looking like 'corned-beef-hash'.
