I know I read this on the CF and I know I should be able to find it through an advanced search but thus far I have been unsuccessful in finding the answer. I purchased a high amperage alternator for my 1974 and I have this adapter on the alternator which I purchased. For you electrical guys and gals out there, I will need to connect my stock harness to this and, well, I don't have a clue what connector I will need. Like I said, I am certain I read it here, I just cannot find the data.
Here is the connector I will need to match up to from the alternator.
I would appreciate it if someone has done this before and can lend me some knowledge to help me make this work.
Thank you in advance and best regards,
David Howard

Okay, call me an idiot, I deserve that name now. I went to my harness and looked at it and found these connectors on it for the alternator.
Which I believe means I plug the harness directly into this adapter now (duh) and attach the second wire to the back of the alternator.
So it appears I already determined I needed this adapter, purchased it, installed it, then let time go bye before actually verifying it would work.
Some days I probably just shouldn't get out of bed.
Sorry for my confusion folks.

I've forgotten stuff while I've still got it in my hand....
BTW, not sure what your setup is there but make sure you have the load resistor in there somewhere so the system will actually start to charge. (I'm guessing the 74 still didn't have the idiot light)
I bought two of the harness adapters that were supposed to be right and neither had the resistor in them

I hear you and appreciate the guidance. I just wish I had a clue what you were telling me to be sure I get done correctly. I don't have a clue, but hopeful Gordon does and he will help to guide me moving forward.
Thank you.
David
See, I forgot that Gordon was in on the wiring He'll know for sure
(The CS style alternators needed the idiot light to actually work so on the guage cars we need to add a resistor to the circuit to trick it into charging)

NOW I remember why there is small light behind the dash that comes on (at night) when I turn the Key to the ON position …….
I didn't have resistor at 11p.m. in 2018
Heck there are times when I walk from the kitchen out to the garage, stop and...... wonder why did I come out here?
Wander back into the house and remember.
Maybe I'm getting old, I am, but all those years has crammed my brain with trivial stuff that I need to purge so all the good stuff can find it's way out when needed.
