I recently bought a set of new aftermarket trailing arms. They were bought second hand. They have no dust shields on them. In order for the parking brake to work the shields have to be installed because they hold the hardware in place. The arms are already assembled aka spindle is pressed into the bearings. Do I have to disassemble the arm in order to get the stupid dust shield installed? If so does the bearings need setup again? Or just torque the nut to the specified torque? Thanks!
The bearing assembly comes out of the arms with the 4 large bolts
But it seems to me the dust shield needed to be in place before the bearing assembly went together (before the shock strut bracket) and that's the problem with the bearings etc
