Hello,
Anybody know what the "Date Received" box and the "Exp Date of Prod" boxes mean at the top of a 1969 tank sheet? How are the numbers in these interpreted?

I believe "Date Received" is the date the factory received the order. "Exp Date of Prod" is the date the plant expected to build the car. The actual production date was usually within in a day or two either way of the expected date of production.

Hello,
So my tank sticker has the number 8 /11 /22 in the date received box--does that translate to November 22 1968 ? But in the exp date of prod. box it has 8 / 00 / 00 . What does that mean?

When the tank sticker was printed out the expected date of production is always a blank placeholder. For Example 9/00/00 for a 1969 corvette.

I'm surprised how far out your received date is with a Feb 26 build date. My Feb. 11 build date car has a Jan. 17 '69 received date.

To elaborate on the EXPECTED DATE OF PRODUCTION, the zone office set this date when the order was received from the dealer. Thus its a projected date the car will begin its assembly process and in the case of Corvette, body build. This date was communicated back to the dealer to confirm options and give the dealer information to share with the buyer of when the car would be built. By the time the car was built, as noted, was a month out from the order date.
By 1973, as GMAD took over plant operations at St Louis with the use of the GMAD buildsheet, the date format changed from the 00/00/00 format to 04-30

Hello,
I am glad you mentioned that. That was my next question? What may be the cause of it? Rolling strikes?
