Hey all - I need to order a new top dash pad for our '77. It seems like most of the major parts vendors are selling them for about the same cost which makes me think they are all getting them at the same source. Do any of you know who is actually making them?
Yeah. I guess they got merged with some other company and offer more selection.
Ive nver bought a replacment dash from either company. But they each make pretty good interior products.
I mean, i know theyre not original GM parts sodont expect 100 accuracy. sometimes the grain or color can be off and fit tighter.
I usually buy CA parts when they have sales. You can get map pricing and free shipiing.
I recovered mine. Fraction of the cost and it still fits! Of course I don't have speakers in the dash so I covered over the speaker holes that were cracking.
Before.
After.
some thin (3/16th's) foam and then vinyl with matching grain. A bit of glue. Maybe 30 bucks all up. Fits like original.

Looks good! I would consider this, but the dash pad in ours is broken in two. Southwest desert sun took it's toll on the interior and rubber parts.
Repair the pad...if you can. If damaged beyond repair, your two replacement options are 1) new aftermarket part; 2) salvaged part in good condition. That second option is best IF you can find one, get it cleaned up and recolor it to match with your interior. Swap meets, and Corvette shows usually have folks with salvaged parts for sale. But, Covid-19 has put the 'kabash' on most of them for this year. New upper dash pads are fairly expensive....but that might be the way you have to go.
