'77 Forward Harness Routing Question

Default '77 Forward Harness Routing Question

Hey all - the forward harness and vacuum line runs between the radiator support and the inner fender. My question is, should there be a strap / loop or something to hold them in place, or do they just lay against the support and inner fender? Seems like that would be a good place for wear on the harness and vacuum hose.

Unless they changed it in later years, like your '77, there is nothing there other than the hoses and wires. It must not be an issue because I've never heard of excessive wear on the hoses or wires because of this routing.

For questions like this that ask about factory installations, I highly recommend you buy the '77 Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM). Willcox has it as a downloadable pdf file for $24; you can also buy a printed copy from just about every Corvette parts vendor. Be aware that they are all copies of the same document and may have a few poorly reproduced pages.

Thanks for the response! I do have an AIM for our '77 but it's very vague and the images don't really show it well. Maybe I'll just do a wrap of some sort to keep them looking a little more organized.

If you have the L-48 engine, the 'base' AIM info drawings should be referenced. If you have the L-82, the L-82 option drawing packet should have the info you need.
