Default c3 t-top question

hello we recently picked up a 80 c3 that was severely hacked up lol no heat or a/c wiring gone flip up headlights gone but it is all put back together well about 80 percent and here is my question it of course has the glass t-tops and i have read that these can be reto fited to fot a early c3 so can the early c3 be retro fitted to fit the later c3 or is there a painted fiberglass top available

Welcome to the Forum, and congratulations on your C3! Sounds like you have resolved a lot of issues with it.
Lots of great members and helpful info in the C3 sections of the Forum at https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...s-1968-1982-5/.
My recollection was the T-Top latches switched from two latches to one per side about 1977, 78, or 79, so that may limit interchangeability, but, I am sure many of the members there can help with your question.

If those glass tops are in good condition and the color of the reflective surface of each is a good match, you might be better off selling them for the exorbitant money they can bring. It will help you with cash for other more necessary repairs. Lots of folks seem to think the glass tops aren't that beneficial and can let lots of solar heat into the cabin. Think about what would be best for you in this regard. Right now they can be considered an "asset" with significant value. If they get damaged, broken, scratched their worth can tumble quickly. You should decide how important they are to your vision of how this car will be used.

Default c3 t-top question

they have no useful purpose to me as far as i am concerned, they make the inside hot and in my belief they subtract from the over all look I had a 76 stingray with solid tops and it looked way better in my opinion i just don't like them if I had a source to get solid ones I would sell these pronto lol but there is nothing wrong with them there not scratched or missing any parts and have good seals and good latch sets. i have seen the glass ones between 700 and 1200 bucks i just cat believe there worth that much

FWIW: put a Want To Buy on the forum here for a pair of fiberglass tops to fit your 80. You could also list the glass tops for sale\trade.

Welcome to the forum.

What language was your post?

No caps, no commas, no periods??????????

Gave me a headache to answer this.

There are three 'editions' of T-tops. Early won't fit LATE and Late won't fit early.

The latches are different.

You can install these if the heat bothers you , I’m considering getting some brand new glass tops for my 80 but I still wouldn’t want to sell mine if I did get some

There are lots of different films made today to reduce heat and suns Ray's. I have a pair of moon roof t-tops, I had a sunscreen shop put some clear film on them that reduces 80% of the suns uv Ray's and heat

I see tons of solid T tops for sale locally on CL, all the time. Shouldn't be difficult to find a decent pair.

Hold on to your glass tops. They'll make your 80 pop. They also have more headroom if that matters.

Since the glass ones are too nice for every day, I picked up a cheap pair of fiberglass tops ($250 or so at Carlisle). They need paint. I may paint them black to match the glass top look, or white like the car. I haven't decided. They look like trash now, but I rarely use them anyway.

It should be easy to find a pair that fit.

I found someone selling a pair on this Forum, and arranged to pick them up at Corvettes at Carlisle.

Check the Forum classifieds, and post a WTB. Also check Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace.
