Default 71 front bumper help

I've read several old threads and looked at pictures concerning the outer bracket extensions that the front bumper attaches to in the corners of the bumper. On the 71 there isn't a difference between the left and right bracket. My question is this, there is a vertical slotted hole on one part of the bracket and a horizontal slotted hole on the other end. Which hole bolts to the bumper the vertical or horizontal?

Thank you

Thank you. I saw this but it is too difficult to tell if the holes in the brackets are horizontal or vertical slots. I can't make out the orientation of that bracket sticking out. The hole orientation would help.

Thanks for sending.

This probably doesn't help either.

When I'm in the shop tomorrow I'll see if I can get a pic of mine that shows which way it is

Thank you all. Any additional pics are helpful. It is looking like the slot is horizontal against the bracket from the frame based on Radman2112 Pic.

You've all been helpful, thank you!

By the looks of my AIM, the vertical slot is against the bumper. I'm going to the garage in a few minutes and I'll see if I can take some pictures

Well this may or may not help
Like the image I posted above, my twisted brackets are inside the U shaped ones so you can't see anything, but I can just barely make out a little of the horizontal slot peeking out behind the washer on the part that goes to the frame extension so the vertical one must be on the bumper end

Best I can do, horizontal on the frame, vertical on the bumper but hidden behind the twisted bracket and can't see from the front side

You can see the gap on Radman2112 (nice rush reference there) first image as well
