Default Unknown sensor

Not sure what this sensor is between the exhaust ports of cylinders 1 & 3. The little tab broke off to connect the wire. If anyone knows what this is exactly I’d appreciate the help

Hard to tell from the photo on my mobile phone but from what you're describing it's the coolant temperature sender which goes into a bung in the head at that location.

That connector has definitely seen some heat, likely melted against the headers. You should look into replacing that as well as the sensor.

Now you get to read all the threads about how the replacement senders have the wrong resistance and cause the gauge to be inaccurate. Have fun.

I managed to repair mine when the tab broke off by carefully slotting the insulation just enough to solder a new tab in place and then reinforce it with JB weld. Been working for 9 years now, If you have to get a replacement sensor, Wilcox makes the adjustable resistor to calibrate your gauge to the new sensor.
