Default Working behind the seats

Corvette noob here. Has anyone come up with anything clever to help with working behind the seats (battery work, speaker installs, cleaning, etc)? Something like a homemade platform that you could place on the folded forward seat back and kneel on or something?
Thanks

I read posts from many who pull the seats out for under dash or storage compartment work.

Hello, I would'nt put the slightest amount of weight on 40+ year old plastic seat back. I have found most old G.M. plastic interior trim to be notoriously fragile. Regards, LowSporty

I would remove the seats. Makes more room to work with and keeps the seats safe from mis-haps.

What year is the car?
The 70-75 seats that have the shoulder belt run though the seat are a PIA but still worth taking the seats out for any work
Don't kneel / push on the parking brake console

Depends on how long you're going to be back there. If often enough, to make pulling the seats in and out a lot easier, once you have them out, screw in some studs with a little loctite. You can also puts some bolts in from the bottom of the car if you'd rather.

This makes fastening them back in a whole lot easier, you just need to put a washer and nut in place and spin it down rather than having to fuss finding the hole again.

Thanks. This might be the way to go, I think. Not having to go underneath would be key. Plus maybe a air or cordless ratchet would make quick work of the nuts.

I just bought the car but the work/storage space for it won’t be built for a few months, so it is in a storage unit and I’m going stir crazy wishing I could be working on it. 😀

You can remove the seats without pulling the shoulder belt out. Just unbolt a seat, pull the seat-back forward, lift out and rotate 180 pulling the front of the seat outward (CCW on left; CW on right). The top of the seat with the belt will be about 1 foot away from its normal position.
