Hi all. My name is Brendon from Victoria, Australia. My father recently passed and I have taken on the job of his C3 corvette project. The 350ci has just finished being built, i have a TCI street fighter th350 trans to bolt onto it. it is currently at the panel shop getting the panels smooth ready for paint. I am building it the way he was going to so a lot of die hard C3 fans will want to kill me for the paint color choice but others will love it just because the color is pretty awesome, it will be painted in Harley Davidson Cherry black. once I get her back i will get some more pics for you all. i will attach a pic of the color for you all. sorry for the crappy pic of the vette, its all i have on this device as i am away with work at the moment. i am keen to get some rim and tire information. i want to run the foose F104 legends, can anyone tell me what size, offset and back spacing i will need for front and back? or point me to a thread that can tell me? being in Australia, our wheel shops cant tell me **** lol

As a dyed in the wool purist... I think a black cherry metallic is stunning. There was a later C4 or C5 that had such a color and it was my favorite color by far. Oh, yeah, welcome to the madness!

Nice colour, very deep.

Sounds like a great project

Rims need to be 8” wide with 4” backspace if you sticking with standard widths.

Are you looking at 18”s ? I imported mine direct from the US as it was easier and cheaper.

yeah looking for 18" rims front and back. i have found what i am looking for in style and supplier just couldn't get an answer on offset and back spacing. is it the same for front and back? 4" b/s. looking for a direct fit without mods to suspension, cables etc

yes 8” wide 4” backspace front and rear will clear all suspension.

255/45-18 rear and 245/45-18 front fit fine.

I’ve always been a big fan of the HD cherry black on an HD.
Great color.
I was planning to go black on my 73, but now that you bring up the idea, I’m going to have to rethink my color choice.
Keep us posted and we all love pics.

You're the only one that has any say in the color and with the tie-in to your Dad, go for it!

Hi Brendon,

Welcome to the Forum. I've seen several cars and old pickup trucks with that black cherry metallic color on them and I am a big fan of the color. IT'S STUNNING and one of those paints that changes colors in different light and at different angles of view which is going to be beautiful and just fun to look at.

I like the Foose F104's too. Your car will have that dark, sinister look to it. Not to mess up your thought process on wheels but have you considered Foose Knuckle F097's? If I just had stupid money laying around, I would have a set of those.

Thank you for the trip down memory lane, radiotexas. I remember playing that song until I wore the grooves out of the vinyl
