We both live in South Carolina Low country on barrier Islands adjacent to each other. The appraiser is employed by Auto Appraisal Group, Inc.located in Charlottesville, VA. Hemmings referred me to the company for appraisal. The company insures classic cars and places a value on its worth. The procedure the company uses to place a value on a car requires a completed report by the appraiser and he then sends the documents along with extensive photos of the car back to the insurance company for a valuation. Finding someone like the men who responded to my request with the knowledge you all have doesn't exist her where I live.
I wanted a second opinion and I have to admit I'm overwhelmed by the knowledge the gentlemen who responded to my plea for advice on this forum has provided me. I now know a starting point to make an offer since the car was never an LT1. None the less a nice example of 1970 4 speed corvette, that will require some work to restore it back to original condition, but far from an investment grade model
I've arrived to the conclusion this car was never an LT1 based on the advice received from the gentlemen that responded to my post. I'm disappointed, but I'll live. I just have to keep looking. There has to be an original LT1, Monza Red, coupe for sale eventually. I now have the necessary knowledge what to look for because of the response from the various gentlemen whom provided their opinions. Thanks for your input.
